2016 Greektown Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Greektown will hold its First Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, December 10th at 5:00 PM, and you are invited! The tree will be placed inside the monument located on the southeast corner of Halsted and Van Buren streets. It will be decorated with ornaments from the National Hellenic Museum.

We have invited students from several Chicagoland Greek schools to sing Κάλαντα, or carols, both around the tree and in our restaurants following the ceremony. We have also invited Consul General of Greece, Polyxeni Petropoulou, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Secretary of State, Jesse White, Alderman Walter Burnett, Alderman Danny Solis, and Alderman Brendan Reilly to officiate.

Please do not hesitate to contact the SSA#16 office (312.255.7280), if you have any questions or concerns.

In the meantime, even though it seems a bit early, Καλά Χριστούγεννα και Καλή Χρονιά (Happy Holidays)!

We hope to see all of you by the tree on December 10th.
