Greektown
is the proud home of the Hellenic Museum and Cultural Center, which is
currently located in its temporary space at 801 West Adams Street. (in
the Greek Islands Building, on the fourth floor). The Hellenic Museum and
Cultural Center is a place where one can come to learn about the Greek
immigrant experience in America. View vignettes from a permanent
collection of over 6,000 objects,photos and century-old books and
textiles, and hear the recordings and visual testimonials that capture
growing up Greek in America, living through homeland wars and famine or
the joy of experiencing a new generation of success.
Nourishing Culture
Experience our Annual TASTE OF
GREECE along Halsted Street (800 West) from VanBuren Street (400
South) to Monroe Street (100 South) for the samplings of our famous
Greek Restaurants in an open air festival. Numerous vendors selling
their wares as well as entertainers playing traditional Greek music
with Greek Belly Dancers. For all ages the famous international Jesse
White Tumbling Team amazes the crowds. Check our website for listing of
