Meet the Author at Greek Islands
The Hellenic Professional Society of Illinois (HPSI) is hosting an evening Meet & Greet with the award-winning author, Nektaria Anastasiadou at Greek Islands Restaurant on Wednesday, September 27. Anastasiadou is the 2019 winner of the Zografeis Agon, a Greek-language literary award founded in 19th century Constantinople. Her debut novel, A Recipe for Daphne (Hoopoe, 2021), was shortlisted for the 2022 Runciman Award and long-listed for the 2022 Dublin Literary Award.
Doors open at 6 PM for the event. A Q&A will be moderated by journalist and author Maria A. Karamitsos, founder and former publisher and editor of WindyCity Greek magazine. Copies of A Recipe for Daphne will be available for purchase and signing at the event, courtesy of Volumes Bookcafe in Chicago, a Greek-owned independent bookstore.
