Literary giant at the National Hellenic Museum
On Thursday, December 5, Jeffrey Eugenides, the Pulitzer-prize winning author of Middlesex and The Marriage Plot, will join Chicago Tribune feature writer Christopher Borrelli in conversation at the National Hellenic Museum. This event is co-hosted by the National Hellenic Museum and the Consulate General of Greece in Chicago. It is generously sponsored by Greektown Special Service Area #16, Avli Restaurant, and Mr. Stavros Basseas. Eugenides is known for his deep exploration of identity, love, and the complexities of the human experience, with work that touches on themes of Greek American heritage, the immigrant experience, and the fluidity of identity. His visit provides a rare opportunity to hear from one of contemporary literature’s most celebrated writers and premier Greek American voices. Through his novels, short stories, and essays, he has established himself as a profound chronicler of the modern condition, with a particular focus on how cultural legacies shape personal identity.
