Tree Lighting: Thank you everyone who came out!

A very big thank you to everyone who came out to our Tree Lighting on November 24th. This event shows us Greektown is strongly anchored by its celebrations of history, traditions, and community.  Beautiful traditional kalanda were sung by children from Chicagoland area Greek schools. Honoring us were Consul Generals Emmanuel Kabourakis and Georgia Tasiopoulou from the Consulate of Greece in Chicago, Alderman Bill Conway of the 34th Ward, and Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas. We were proud to partner with the 34th Ward, Chicago Greektown Education Foundation, Chicago Greektown Chamber of Commerce and the National Hellenic Museum.  We are grateful to Alderman Conway & the 34th Ward for bringing Greektown such a truly magnificent tree! Be sure to take a trip to Greektown to see our tree with a hundred beautiful karavakia boats and bright blue and white lights.
