Merchant Spotlight: Artopolis

Artopolis has been a staple in Greektown Chicago since the café and bakery opened 20 years ago. Set in a modern, yet intimate loft-style space with an open-air kitchen, it is a great place to escape the cold and relax with a cup of Greek coffee, meet friends for a delicious lunch, or grab freshly-made bakery items to-go.

With a number of new seasonal menu items, Artopolis is a must-visit restaurant that both residents and visitors should add to their bucket list this winter. The Grecian homemade touch shines through in all the restaurant’s offerings, especially the freshly-baked bread. They’ve recently introduced a new olive oil and rosemary bread that comes in a variety of shapes. Artopolis is serving seasonal pies including pumpkin for those who still want fall flavors, as well as cranberry, apple and walnut. Don’t forget the restaurant’s year-round savory pies, known as artopitas, are always available too. Some of the fan-favorite artopitas include spinach & feta (spanakopita), mushroom & emmental (manitaropita) and jambon & kasseri (zamponopita).

For those still searching for perfect holiday gifts, look no further than Artopolis’ Agora, their boutique market that offers specialty items primarily from Greece and Europe including wine, olives, olive oil, jams and preserves, several varieties of honey and more. Stop by Artopolis this month to do some holiday shopping and try the new menu items all at once!
