Where to Dine Before Summer United Center Shows

Throughout the summer months, Chicago’s United Center is a go-to venue for top artists and shows. As it does every summer, the United Center will be hosting some of the country’s best acts only a few blocks away from Greektown. Concerts range from Barbara Streisand on August 6, Queen on August 9, and the Backstreet Boys on August 10. Consider visiting Greektown before your night out. Follow the guide below for spots to stop by before heading to the United Center this summer!

  • Ambassador Public House – Ambassador Public House is Greektown’s international sports bar serving up casual European fare, specialty cocktails and premium draft beers on tap. Located at 310 S. Halsted St., Ambassador Public House is a great option for cocktails before the show!
  • Athena – Complete with a beautiful outdoor patio space, Athena is a scenic spot to grab an authentic Greek dinner before seeing one of your favorite artists. Get started with some saganaki to celebrate the night!
  • Dugan’s on Halsted – Serving Chicago since 1985, Dugan’s is known as “the only Irish Pub in Greektown”. The bar offers an extensive, locally-brewed beer list and summer cocktail menu. They have free food on Monday-Friday during their weekly happy hour starting at 5 p.m. if you’re looking for drinks and a quick bite before making your way to the United Center!
